Ada & Ina began with a simple frustration: I couldn't find good linen. I'd been working with the fabric for years, at a small independent fashion label back home in Finland, before moving to the UK in 2005. Once here, I went looking for the kind of quality linen fabric I wanted for my own home, at a price that made sense, and came up empty. So I decided to source it myself.

It didn't take long to realise that fabric on its own wasn't enough. Curtains need to be made, and made well, so I started working with a small group of exceptionally skilled seamstresses — women who'd spent years perfecting the craft of handmade curtains. Pairing their skill with good linen felt like the obvious next step, and it's been at the heart of how we work ever since.

From there, the range grew to include linen bedding, and eventually our own printed curtain fabrics, designed in-house.

What hasn't changed is the idea behind it all: that beautiful linen shouldn't come with a luxury price tag — plain or printed. Our prints lean on Scandinavian restraint more than anything trend-led, which is why most are just one colour. I still believe that when it comes to choosing fabric for bespoke curtains, less is more.

None of it would work without the team, either.
